Most Cited Paper Award

International Journal of Biological Sciences has made remarkable progress since its first publication. Submissions are up each year and the quality of papers has been outstanding. The Journal is now covered by all major indices including MEDLINE, PubMed, EMBASE, CAS, CABI, Scopus, and Science Citation Index (SCI) Expanded.

The Journal is pleased to announce the establishment of "Most Cited Paper Award" to papers published in the past two years, to show our appreciation to authors that published with us. The most highly cited papers will be awarded $US 1000. In addition, the authors will be presented an award certificate issued by the Journal and signed by the Editor-In-Chief, Dr. Chuxia Deng. Citations of papers will be based on Google Scholar that tracks the journal since its first publication.

Most Cited Paper Award for year 2016: Winners of this year are Yan-Cun Liu, Xian-Biao Zou, Yan-Fen Chai, Yong-Ming Yao, for the paper "Macrophage Polarization in Inflammatory Diseases".

Most Cited Paper Award for year 2015: Winners of this year are Zhi-Yuan Xu, Qi-Ming Yu, Yi-An Du, Li-Tao Yang, Rui-Zeng Dong, Ling Huang, Peng-Fei Yu, Xiang-Dong Cheng, for the paper "Knockdown of Long Non-coding RNA HOTAIR Suppresses Tumor Invasion and Reverses Epithelial-mesenchymal Transition in Gastric Cancer". A certificate and $US 1000 were issued.

Most Cited Paper Award for year 2014: Winners of this year are Guiqian Chen,  Chuxia Deng,  and Yi-Ping Li, for the paper "TGF-β and BMP Signaling in Osteoblast Differentiation and Bone Formation". A certificate and $US 1000 were issued.

Most Cited Paper Award for year 2013: Winners of this year are Brian F. Zamarron and WanJun Chen from National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, NIH, for the paper "Dual Roles of Immune Cells and Their Factors in Cancer Development and Progression". A certificate and $US 1000 were issued.


Most Cited Paper Award for year 2012: Winners of this year are Guan Yang and Xiao Yang from Institute of Biotechnology, AMMS, Beijing, for the paper "Smad4-mediated TGF-β signaling in tumorigenesis". A certificate and $US 1000 were issued.

Most Cited Paper Award for year 2011: Winners of this year are Tina M. Thornton and Mercedes Rincon from University of Vermont, for the paper "Non-Classical P38 Map Kinase Functions: Cell Cycle Checkpoints and Survival". A certificate and $US 1000 were issued.

Most Cited Paper Award for year 2010: The winners were Hong-Bo Shao, Li-Ye Chu, Zhao-Hua Lu, Cong-Min Kang, from Chinese Academy of Sciences, for the paper Primary antioxidant free radical scavenging and redox signaling pathways in higher plant cells. A certificate and $US 1000 were issued.

Most Cited Paper Award for year 2009: The winner was Joan K. Lunney, from United States Department of Agriculture, for the paper Advances in Swine Biomedical Model Genomics. A certificate and $US 1000 were issued.

Most Cited Paper Award for year 2008: The winners were JA De Soto, X Wang, Y Tominaga, et al., for their paper "The Inhibition and Treatment of Breast Cancer with Poly (ADP-ribose) Polymerase (PARP-1) Inhibitors". A certificate and $US 1000 were issued.

Most Cited Paper Award for year 2007: The winners were Ashley C. Bibby and David W. Litchfield, who were issued a certificate together with $US 1000, for their paper "Multiple Personalities of the Regulatory Subunit of Protein Kinase CK2: CK2 Dependent and CK2 Independent Roles Reveal a Secret Identity for CK2β".
